So you might have heard about the recent trend of white Instagrammers tanning their skin, getting lip injections, and altering their hair texture so to appear more ethnic and racially ambiguous but did you know there is another trend of Asian men processing and curling their hair to get Afro and “nappy” hair.
One characterized his tutorial as how to get the look as the “Oddell Beckham Jr.” look.
It reminds me of writer Wanna Thompson‘s analysis in Paper on the Instagram fiasco: “the ghetto has been repackaged and curated to appeal to the masses whilst replacing black femmes and dark skinned women with those who look racially ambiguous.”
