Janet Jackson is in the news recently because she announced at close to age 50 that she was expecting her first child with her billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana. Before this surprising news that set a lot of tongues flapping, Mrs. Jackson Al Mana was known for something else: Her trend setting box braids that she wore while starring in the John Singleton film Poetic Justice opposite the late rapper Tupac Shakur.
Another JJBraids.com blog fave Regina King starred as her co-worker and friend who went along for a ride in Shakur’s character’s ice cream truck to a Hair Show across the state in Oakland.
Since then, she has returned to the box braids style time and time again. And famously wore individual micro braids during the first half of her “Unbreakable” tour last year and early this year.
