It’s Afropunk black hair, fashion, music, culture and heritage festival time in Brooklyn, New York this week, home of the original music festival dedicated to Black Culture!
As usual, I am here for it…especially the hairstyles! Give me your faux hawk, your muddled Fro, your fierce ornately trimmed goatee! Since launching in New York’s flyest Burroughs, the fest, famous for outrageous, Afro futuristic hair, clothing and styling, it has grown into a cultural movement with franchise stops in Paris, London, Johannesburg, a podcast and more!
The event took place from August 25th to August 28 this year and musical guests and headliners included Janelle Monae, Miguel, Erykah Badu, Willow and Jaden Smith, Daniel Cesar, Tyler, the Creator, Pusha T and more
