I am big on aromatherapy and I know that essential oils and certain fragrances have therapeutic effect on the body and the hair!
Here is a formula for an aromatherapy scalp massage treatment I plan to try.
Ingredients:
- Lavender oil
- Eucalyptus oil
- Peppermint
- Jojoba oil
- Coconut oil pills/capsules
- Rosemary oil
- Cedarwood oil
- Deep conditioning treatment.
Or, in lieu of individual vials of oil, you can purchase an essential oil blend.
Steps:
Add two to three drops of each oil to 2 cups of the conditioning treatment in a glass bowl and mix.
Heat the mixture in the microwave or by dipping the glass bowl in a pot of boiled water for 5 minutes.
Take a couple of scoops and massage into the root by hand. Leave in hair for 15 minutes.
For maximum impact, sit under a hair dryer while the mixture is in the hair.
Rinse and then put a few drops of each in a cup of hot water and do a final rinse and scalp massage.
The hair should feel tingly and the scents should invigorate your senses and open up your sinus passages and leaving you feeling great.
